Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the waiver of crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh, based on farmers’ land passbooks, with loans up to Rs 1 lakh waived on July 18.
This decision follows opposition criticism over mandatory food security cards for loan availing. Reddy clarified these cards are only for family identification.
Loans will be credited to farmers’ accounts by July 18 evening, and celebrations will be held at Rythu Vedikas. Strict actions are warned against misdirected deposits.
