In the first year i.e. 2022-23, the target of computerization of 13,000 Primary Agriculture Credit Societies (PACS) has been fixed, said Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah while replying to a query in parliament.
In reply to Pocha Brahmananda Reddy, Lok Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh, Shah added, “As per the preliminary survey done by NABARD, approximately 1,922 PACS are functional in Andhra Pradesh state which will be benefited in the project. However, the Government of India intends to computerize all the functional PACS, as per the recommendation of the respective State Government”.
In order to digitize Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), the Government of India has recently approved a project to computerize 63,000 functional PACS across the country including the State of Andhra Pradesh with an outlay of Rs. 2516 crores; wherein hardware, comprehensive ERP solution covering all the services, digitization of legacy data, training and handholding support will be provided to the PACS, Shah informed.
