Leading functionaries including president and secretary of a cooperative society at Vedasandur in Tamil Nadu were taken into custody for financial irregularities, reports Hindu.
During an audit carried out earlier it came to light that they had used forged papers to defraud the society of Rs. 3.5 lakh.
Acting on a complaint received from cooperative deputy registrar, Commercial Crime Wing police arrested both of them.
The court has remanded them in judicial custody.
