The voting to elect a new Board of the third largest urban cooperative bank of India-SVC Cooperative Bank was held on Sunday across states, peacefully.
“Out of 1.72 lakh eligible voters, around 19,180 cast their votes in the election at the 125 voting centers formed at the 102 branches of the bank”, said Shri Jayant Patil, Returning Officer, while talking to the Indian Cooperative.
Patil further added, “The election was concluded peacefully and no news of violence was reported from any of the voting centres. The counting of votes will be held on 8th June 2023 and the results will be announced in the special general body meeting of the bank to be held on 22nd June 2023 at Mumbai”, Patil informed.
It bears recalling that the campaigning for the elections had turned murkier with candidates levelling unsavoury charges against each other. There are two main panels in the race , one led by the outgoing Chairman Durgesh S. Chandavarkar and the other by Ravi Pagare.
