The Surat (Gujarat) District Cooperative Milk Producers Union, known as Sumul Dairy, has been selected as the ‘Best Dairy Plant’ by the Indian Dairy Association (West Zone).
The award ceremony is scheduled for August 17, 2024, in Nagpur, where Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will serve as the chief guest.
Sumul Dairy Managing Director Arun H. Purohit shared the news via WhatsApp with Indian Cooperative. He wrote, “Happy to share that our Union has been selected as the Best Dairy Plant by the Indian Dairy Association. FIRST in the West Zone. Congratulations.”
The message further explained, “Sumul Dairy Navipardi Unit received the 1st Prize for Best Performing Dairy Plant Award from IDA (West Zone). The criteria included Milk Plant Capacity of 5 LLPD, ?Overall 27% Growth for NPD, ?Most Energy Conserving unit, as well as Capacity Utilization.”
It is worth noting that Sumul Dairy has been instrumental in improving the lives of dairy farmers by providing fair prices for their produce.
