GCMMF has honored one of its milk unions namely Surat District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union popularly known as Sumul Dairy with the “Amul Green Award” for its work on environmental conservation and preservation on Tuesday at GCMMF’s headquarters at Anand district in Gujarat.
On behalf of Sumul Dairy MD S V Chaudhari has received the award from GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi and COO K M Jhala.
As soon as Chaudhari received the award, he shared the news along with photographs with Indian Cooperative through Whatsapp. He wrote, “Sumul Dairy was awarded with the “Amul Green Award” for doing a praiseworthy work for protecting the environment.
“Sumul Dairy has planted over 10.78 lakh trees in the areas of Surat and Tapi district. GCMMF MD R S Sodhi and COO Mr. K. A.M. Jhala honored Sumul with the “Amul Green award”, he added.
Rajeshbhai Pathak, Chairman of Sumul Dairy, presented this honor to the cattle rearers and farmers of the districts. He also announced that 25 lakh trees would be planted in the near future.
Sumul Dairy is procuring milk from Surat and Tapi to the tune of more than 16 lakh liter every day.
Sumul is one among the 17 district unions which acts as a manufacturing unit of dairy products for Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the marketer of Amul brand of products.
