Sugar co-op mills forced to sell below MSP

Indian Express reports since sugar sales have fallen, cooperative sugar mills in Maharashtra are likely to face a serious financial crisis.

Since the start of the crushing season, there has been a shrinking demand for sugar. It is said many sugar mills are selling their sugar stocks below the government-declared Minimum Selling Price (MSP).

However, the sugar Commissioner had issued notices to the regional joint directors to check for such sales below MSP.
