Souharda organizes Managerial Excellence Training Program

The Karnataka State Souharda Federal Cooperative Ltd. recently organized a two-day “Managerial Excellence Development Training Program” for the directors of Souharda cooperatives on July 26th and 27th, 2024.

The training was inaugurated by Mr. Shashidhar P, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, 4th Division, Bengaluru. The concept of the Souharda Federal Cooperative is rooted in autonomy, self-governance, and self-control, making this training particularly relevant.

Souharda emphasizes that cooperatives should develop through the collective decision-making of their governing bodies rather than being driven solely by presidents or chief executive officers.

The accountability of directors in cooperative societies is paramount, as highlighted by G. Nanjana Gowda, President of KSSFCL. In his speech, Gowda stressed that Souharda cooperatives should operate according to the law and that presidents and directors should assume responsibility and work diligently to ensure quality governance.

He advised that directors participate actively and transparently in cooperative activities. Mr. B. S. Gundurao, Director of KSSFCL, emphasized the importance of directors understanding their duties and responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Sri Rajashekar Hugar, AGM of KSSFCL, provided an introduction to the program, noting that this was the third batch of training. He urged participants to apply the knowledge gained from the training in their cooperative work.

The training program covered several key areas, including the role of directors in maintaining financial discipline, business development planning, loan documentation, and recovery measures, as well as an overview of cooperative acts and recent amendments. Expert resource persons provided lectures on these topics, equipping cooperative leaders with necessary skills and knowledge.

Shri Shivakumar Biradar, the Training Officer, welcomed the guests, and Sri Bhavan, SDO of KSSFCL, offered a vote of thanks. A total of 75 representatives from 43 Souharda cooperatives participated in this comprehensive training program.
