R S Sodhi, Managing Director of dairy cooperative major Amul, will deliver the Kurien Memorial Lecture at Michigan State University in the US. “India’s milk revolution: Vergese Kurien and the story of Amul” will be the subject of his lecture, says MSU Today.
Kurien Michigan state university alumnus had played an instrumental role in transforming India into a milk abundant country.
Kurien’s Amul India became the largest milk cooperative with more than 3.6 million smallholder producers delivering milk for collection at more than 18,000 villages every day.
Sodhi will share his vision for Amul’s future and outline the opportunities and challenges in the context of India’s growing middle class and the need for economic, environmental and social sustainability.
Glad to see RS Sodhi presenting the 2017 Kurien Memorial Lecture at MSU, the Milkman’s alma mater.
