IFFCO bagged a Certificate of Appreciation for its services rendered to the “SMARTGRAM” initiative launched in Haryana by Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Former President of India. The Certificate was given to IFFCO for supporting implementation of various farming initiatives undertaken at the adopted villages of Gurugram & Nuh (Mewat) District, Haryana.
The occasion also saw Former President Pranab Mukherjee and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar facilitating IFFCO for its work in growth and development of farmers in Smartgram Yojana, tweeted Dr U S Awasthi, MD of IFFCO.
Yogendra Kumar, Marketing Director of IFFCO received certificate of appreciation. On this occasion the cooperative titan also distributed 500 Agriculture & Farming Input Kits having Sagarika, BioFertiliser, BioDecomposer & Mustard Seeds to farmers.
These kits were distributed at the hands of Former President Pranab Mukherjee and Haryana CM khattar, informed Awasthi.
It bears recall that IFFCO has taken up 20 villages under the President’s Smart Village Scheme. The cooperative titan aims to develop the village on modern lines and this programme was organized with this aim, tweeted IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi.
“Smart Gram” is an initiative launched by the former President Pranab Mukherjee with an aim to develop 100 such villages in the country. A ‘smart gram’ means a self-sufficient village. The physical and social infrastructure of the smart gram goes for complete overhaul leading to improvement in governance, services and economic opportunities.
The village model is based on the combined efforts and resources of the central and state governments, district administration, Panchayati Raj institutions, public and private sectors and the villagers.
Last month, IFFCO had organized a farmers’ meet in the village of Tajnagar in Haryana focusing on the themes of tree-plantation and bee-keeping.
