Siwan Cooperative Bank chairman Ramayan Choudhary was arrested for allegedly running an interstate liquor smuggling racket. Incensed over his arrest, Vinay Shahi, Chairman of Bihar State Cooperative Federation said, Chaudhary, has been doing the business of liquor since the time when there was no liquor ban in Bihar. He has made a lot of money through wrong tactics, he alleges.
“Chaudhary belongs to RJD and one of the co-operative leaders lobbied for him to help him in getting the Legislative Assembly ticket from the said party but could not succeed. He is a very corrupt person and won the election of Siwan DCCB on the basis of money” Shahi said.
It was revealed during investigation that Choudhary favoured one of his close relatives, in getting a loan from his bank to purchase a truck for smuggling liquor from Haryana.
