Siphoning Rs 100 million in Nepal: Pandey arrested

Police arrested Yogendra Pandey, manager of Chhipchhipe Consumers Cooperative, for allegedly embezzling millions of rupees. Superintendent of Police Narhari Regmi stated Pandey was apprehended following an arrest warrant.

Pandey is accused of siphoning over Rs 100 million from the Kawasoti-based cooperative. SP Regmi confirmed the ongoing investigation. Despite depositors’ complaints last Thursday, police have yet to file a case.

Pandey, former chair and manager since 2015, allegedly secured a Rs3.2 million loan with fake documents. The current cooperative head, Gopi Sharma Bhusal, is also implicated in misusing depositors’ funds, collaborating with Pandey.
