Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi have jointly launched in East Champaran district a modern milk processing plant, reports Times Now.
The first unit of Mother Dairy in Bihar is spread over 4.5 acres. It is expected to offer better prices to milk producers.
The milk plant, built at an investment of Rs 15 crore is supposed to pave the way for economic prosperity of local farmers.
Sushil Modi is quoted saying Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (COMPFED) would soon install a five -lakh-litre milk processing unit at Samastipur while a 300-metric-tonne capacity livestock feed unit at Bihiya in Bhojpur district.
