Maharashtra govt has promulgated an ordinance that would debar scores of top politicians including former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar from contesting any election of cooperative organisations for the next ten years, reports Asian Age.
The cooperative dept has issued a show-cause notice to all the forty politicians allegedly involved in irregular transactions in several cooperative banks including the Mumbai Cooperative Bank.
According to additional commissioner and special registrar, all 44 directors were responsible for considerable losses in district cooperative banks.
