Shinde govt to strengthen some old co-op sugar mills

The news is that the Shinde govt will pitch in to strengthen some of the oldest cooperative sugar mills. Two from the list are being controlled by a Minister and a BJP MP.

Two cooperative sugar mills, each controlled by a Maharashtra minister and a BJP MLA, will get Rs 16.13 crore and Rs 17.93 crore respectively, reports Indian Express.

Maharashtra has a total of 100 cooperative sugar mills. Official sources say the state government wants to increase the capacity of all smaller sugar mills including cooperative sugar mills and an amount of Rs 53.79 crore has been made available for them.
