On the occasion of its 42nd Annual General Meeting held in the NCUI headquarters in Delhi on Thursday, Kribhco bestowed the Sahakarita Shiromani Award and the Sahakarita Vibhushan Award on Chaudhary Sheeshpal Singh and Chaudhary Sukhbir Singh Panwar respectively.
While Sheeshpal is from Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, Panwar hails from Delhi. Due to his health issues, Sheeshpal Singh could not attend the event but his wife Mrs. Chaman Kaur took the award on his behalf from the Kribhco management.
Sahakarita Shiromani Awardee Sheesh Pal is a well-known face in cooperative circles and began his journey in the cooperative sector in 1967 when he was elected as the Director of Cooperative Marketing Society, Hapur.
On the occasion Singh’s son thanked the Kribhco management in general and its Chairman Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav in particular for bestowing the Sahakarita Shiromani Award on his father.
Coming to Sukhbir Singh Panwar has served as the secretary, Delhi State Fruit and Vegetable Consumer Federation, also the Vice-Chairman of Delhi State Cooperative Bank since 2001. Currently, he holds the post of Vice-Chairman, National Horticulture Research and Development Foundation.
In his short speech, Panwar gave a special thanks to Nafed Chairman Bijendra Singh for suggesting his name. Sahakarita Vibhushan Awardee has widely travelled across the world and has made significant efforts to bring positive changes in Cooperatives in India.
The awardees were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 1,01,000, among other things.
