A book titled “ULCCS-the saga continues” was released by T.P. Ramakrishnan, Kerala Minister of Labour on International Labor day i.e. 1st May, 2018 at IIM Kozhikode in the presence of a galaxy of cooperators and intellectuals from across the world. Santosh Kumar Sharma author of the book on Sahakar Bharati’s founder Laxmanrao Inamdar is the author of this book too.
The three day function was titled “International Conference on Cooperatives in the Changing World” and it was organized jointly by IIM, Kozhikode, ICA (Asia Pacific), ICA-EU Partnership on Cooperative Development, ILO, CICOPA, ULCCS etc.
The book traces the journey of India’s oldest labor contract cooperative society during the last 93 years. It is the story of an organization inspired by a man who was a relentless and brave visionary as also a fearless crusader for truth and justice.
The society was built on blood, sweat and tears of the laborers, who decided to change the world. It is a true rags to riches story. The book has been published by ICA DOMUS and shall be soon on the market.
It has been written in a simple prose like a story and makes for an interesting reading.
Yet another book from Santosh Kumar Sharma, the author of “NINE GEMS OF INDIAN COOPERATIVE MOVEMENT”
It bears recall that Sharma’s another book “Parasmani Shri Laxman Rao Madhavrao Inamdar-Sahakar bhav ke praneta – was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year in a glittering function organized at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
