At the Nashik Cooperative Conference, Union Minister Amit Shah highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative sector. He introduced a ranking system aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in key areas like PACS, dairy, fisheries, urban cooperative banks, housing societies, and more.
The ranking system will assess cooperatives on multiple parameters, including audits, services, financial performance, and infrastructure, with a total of 100 marks. This initiative will help ensure that banks can rely on these rankings to provide funding to PACS in the future.
Shah reiterated the government’s vision under Prime Minister Modi, promoting the slogan ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation) and ‘Samriddhi se Aatmanirbharta’ (Self-reliance through prosperity). The system is designed to drive growth and ensure sustainability in India’s cooperative sector.
