Union Minister Amit Shah announced the launch of a training program for 10,000 M-PACS (Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies), marking a significant step in strengthening the cooperative sector. He emphasized that the goal is to establish a PACS in every village panchayat across India.
Shah was speaking at Nashik in a cooperative conference when he talked about the Model Bylaws to boost PACS activities.
Shah highlighted that model bylaws have been implemented across states, enabling PACS to engage in a variety of new activities. The Modi government has invested Rs. 2,500 crore to provide computers and software to each PACS, aiming to integrate technology into their operations.
Shah also stressed on Youth and Technology as key to success for the cooperative sector.
Shah stressed the importance of involving youth skilled in modern technology to ensure PACS’ success and self-reliance. He expressed confidence that the ‘double engine government’, under Prime Minister Modi, will transform Maharashtra into a cooperative hub, creating employment opportunities in every village.
