Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ for developing villages bordering China through co-operatives.
He emphasized creating job opportunities, sourcing local agricultural and handicraft products through cooperatives, and maximizing green energy use.
Shah urged Central Armed Police Forces and the Army to purchase local products made by cooperatives and provide healthcare facilities to nearby villages.
It bears recalling that Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls these ‘first villages’, aiming to win the confidence of border residents, forming a strong information network and first line of defence.
