Madhya Pradesh Minister for Cooperatives Vishwas Sarang made a surprise visit to the Apex Bank along with a team of officials to take stock of the working of the cooperative bank’s office in Bhopal.
Sarang got impressed by the filing of documents and cleanliness of the office. He is said to have inspected even cupboards and saw the way files are being kept, reports Central Chronicle.
A cooperator in his own right Sarang also stressed on housing societies getting the audit of their records done. If it calls for an amendment in the Cooperative Society Act, even that could be done, said the Minister.
Recently while addressing a seminar on the topic “Digital Cooperative Banking Summit 2017” in Bhopal, Sarang had put stress on achieving the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digitalization campaign.
This will not only change the condition of banks but also quicken the pace of the country’s growth in the field of technology, he said.
Sarang is on the board of National Labour Cooperative Federation- the apex body of labour cooperatives in the country. NLCF is based in Sarita Vihar in Delhi and is currently struggling to stay afloat amidst dwindling govt support.
