On the sidelines of launching of Indian International Cooperative Trade Fair (IICTF) logo at PIB headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday, Gujarat Veteran Cooperator Dileepbhai Sanghani met Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and used the opportunity to discuss co-op issues.
Sanghani apprised Tomar him about the issues related to cooperative sector and urged minister to resolve them sooner than later. “Minister listened me patiently and assured to resolve them”, said Sanghani to this correspondent on Phone.
Earlier, NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav had met the newly appointed minister in which he raised issues dogging the cooperative movement in the country.
In his first public interaction with media Tomar put co-op movement at a higher pedestal and called it the soul of agriculture. Tomar said” cooperative and agriculture are synonyms. If agriculture is the backbone of Indian villages, co-operative is their soul.”
On the occasion of launch of curtain raiser program, Tomar was present along with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal at PIB headquarters on Raisina Road in New Delhi on Tuesday.
