Sanchi to build milk powder plant at cost of Rs 77 crore

Madhya Pradesh-based Indore Sahakari Dugdh Sangh Limited (Sanchi) is all set to build a milk powder plant on its premises at the cost of Rs 76.50 crore, reads a media report.

In this regard, the Government of India has sanctioned Rs 50 crore under Dairy Infrastructure Development Fund. This amount will be received from the National Cooperative Development Corporation.

For this, the state government will give a guarantee. It has been approved by the state cabinet. The rest of the cost of Rs 26.50 crore will be borne by the milk co-op itself.

The milk co-op CEO AN Dwivedi said that the capacity of the old milk powder plant is 1.50 lakh liters, but the capacity of the new plant will be 3.50 lakh.
