Appointment of a tainted officer as chief liquidator of a cooperative bank in Nagpur, Maharashtra has fired up depositors, says Times of India.
The depositors’ association of Samata Sahakari Bank has apprised Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis of their objections to the appointment of the officer who is facing serious charges of irregularities in the liquidation process of a cooperative bank.
Wankhede the officer in question who enjoys an assistant registrar’s rank in the department of cooperatives, has been appointed as liquidator of Samata Sahakari Bank which stopped working several years ago. .
Earlier, Wankhede had been part of a liquidators’ panel.
