According to The Hindu reports, lakhs of people who had invested in four cooperatives run by the Sahara Group will assemble in Delhi in December to protest the government’s failure to refund their deposits.
They complain that the portal launched in July to refund the money of the investors has not worked, with scores of complaints of rejection.
Abhay Dev Shukla, president of a registered body representing the Sahara investors has expressed fear that following the demise of Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy that the unclaimed funds would be sent back to the Consolidated Fund of India.
Roy passed away on November 14 in Mumbai after a prolonged illness.
