Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah claimed that an amount of Rs 214 crore has been released to 2.50 lakh depositors of cooperative credit societies linked to Sahara Group.
Shah said this while inaugurating the office building of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) in New Delhi.
He said that people used to say that people’s money stuck in the Sahara Group will not be returned, but till now about 1.5 crore investors of cooperative societies of the Sahara Group have been registered and 2.5 lakh people have also got Rs 241 crore back.
It’s worth recalling that the launch of the CRCS-Sahara refund portal followed a Supreme Court order, aiming to streamline the reimbursement process. However, investors have raised concerns about the portal’s functionality, with complaints about rejected forms surfacing.
Later on, the Union Ministry of Cooperation has released the toll-free numbers where one can call to remove deficiencies in their form submissions These are: 1800 103 6891 / 1800 103 6893
