The Sahakar Bharati team comprising of its President Ramesh Vaidya, National General Secretary Uday Joshi and Satish Marathe and some others had met RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das at Mumbai last week and discussed the emerging challenges of co-operative banks and credit societies.
Sharing the details, Joshi said, “We apprised the Governor of several issues including BoM, grant of licenses; to open new branches and restoration of section 80P to provide UCBs and credit societies with benefits. The Governor assured us that that he would consider all the issues with a positive mind”.
The meeting lasted half an hour. The delegation also submitted a note to the Governor.
The note referred to issues dealing with DCCBs, PACs, StCBs, ARDBs, UCBs and Credit Cooperatives. “The meeting was fruitful and we are sure that the governor would meet all our expectations”, said Joshi on the phone.
