Ending the supremacy of the outgoing board, the candidates from Sahakar Panel swept the election of Nashik (Maharashtra) Zilla Sarkari and Parishad Karmachari Sahakari Bank. They won the election with a huge margin of votes defeating their rivals from the Samata Panel.
Most of the candidates in the Samata Panel were from the outgoing board and it is said that they were controlling the bank for more than two decades. But now, the bank management has gone in the hands of candidates from the Sahakar Panel. The voting for the election was held on Sunday and the result announced on Monday.
In the election of the bank, both the panels fielded 21 candidates each and the Sahakar Panel has succeeded in winning all the director seats of the bank.
Soon after the election, talking to the Indian Cooperative correspondent on the phone, the bank’s former Vice-Chairman and winning director Pramod Nirgude said, “Our Sahakar Panel made a clean sweep in the elections of the bank and we are very thankful to the shareholders for reposing faith in us”.
“We will work together to take the bank to newer heights and will meet all the expectations of the shareholders. Our first priority will be the member satisfaction”, Nirgude added.
The elected directors included, Bharat Rathore, Balasaheb Thackeray, Nilesh Deshmukh, Pramod Nirgude, Ajit Avhad, Jayant Shinde, Gyaneshwar Shankarrao, Sunil Gite, Mahesh Mule, Vinod Jawage, Ravindra Baviskar, Vijay Devre, Mandakini Pawar, Dhanshree Kapadnis, Vikram Pingale, Mohan Gangurde, Ravindre Shivnath, Abhijeet Goderao, Amol Bagul, Sachin Vinchurkar and Ramesh Bodake.
Meanwhile, the election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman will be held in a couple of days but it is said that Balasaheb Thackeray and Nilesh Deshmukh will be the front-runners for the Chairman post.
Around 5800 candidates cast their votes in the election. Nashik District Deputy Registrar Gautam Balsane was appointed as the returning officer to oversee the election process.
The bank has a business mix of more than Rs 500 crore and has a network of five branches in Nashik District.
