Uttar Pradesh State Cooperative Bank’s mild-mannered former Chairman Chaudhary Tejveer Singh is one of the BJP candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, according to a list of candidates released on Sunday evening.
Singh hails from Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. He earlier served as a member of Lok Sabha three times and was also the Chairman of Mathura District Cooperative Bank for around 13 years.
The news of his candidature spread like wildfire. As soon as his name was announced, his followers expressed their happiness through social media.
Elections for 56 seats in the Rajya Sabha are set to take place on February 27.
