A news outlet from Goa reports the Registrar of Co-operative Societies (RCS) ‘disqualified’ many past and present members of the Board of Directors of Goa Dairy who indulged in irregularities harming the milk Cooperative.
At the same time, the RCS also appointed a three-member committee of administrators (CoA) to manage the Goa Dairy for six months or until elections are held to fill up the vacancies following the disqualification.
It bears recalling that the Goa State Milk Producers Union, the co-operative which markets products under the ‘Goa Dairy’ has been affected by corruption for a long time.
However, those disqualified have angrily reacted to the move saying it an assault on the cooperative movement.
