In a rash of burglaries in recent months, unidentified robbers stole Rs 14 lakh from the Nashik cooperative bank in Malegaon. The bank had neither CCTV cameras nor an armed guard, reports Times of India.
Manager of the bank has lodged a complaint with the Malegaon taluka police. Police say the burglars resorted to the same modus operandi which was used in the previous robberies. The cash chest was cut open with the help of gas cutter, police say.
Meanwhile, police have complained despite their urging cooperative banks in the area to install surveillance system and hire armed security guards along with alarm system, nothing has been done so far, police say.
