Revival of Pariyaram Co-op Medical College on cards

Hindu reports the Kerala govt has approved a road map to revive the Pariyaram Cooperative Medical College (PMC), that involves probes into appointments carried out without government sanction and financial irregularities and a review of the staff pattern.

The college was the first major initiative of its kind in the cooperative sector in professional education. The Kerala State Cooperative Hospital Complex, the apex body that runs the medical college, has been informed about the decisions.

A special team of the Finance Inspection Wing will soon be formed to carry out a probe into the financial irregularities in the conduct of the college and other connected institutions.

Sources say the Secretary for Cooperation will conduct a probe into illegal appointments made without the sanction of the state government.
