INDIA-ECONOMY-RBIThe RBI has lauded the AP govt’s efforts to face the challenge posed by the widespread destruction the recent cyclone caused in the state. The RBI chief recently had a meeting with the AP govt top officials.

The apex bank has promised all possible help in putting the cyclone ravaged state back into a good condition. The RBI has also appreciated the state govt’s move to set up ” farmers empowerment corporation ‘ to solve multiple problems being faced by the farming population.

Knowledgeable sources say the AP govt officials in their meeting with the RBI chief said natural calamities hammering the state at intervals took a heavy toll on the state’s economy.

They underscored the need for special assistance from the banking sector in the reconstruction programs already underway in the state, sources add.

Some commentators say the latest natural disaster has only compounded the various post – bifurcation problems the state has lately been facing. Meanwhile, Union Urban Minister Vainkaiyya Naidu has tweeted to spend Dipawali with the victims of the cyclone.
