On Wednesday, the last day of the monsoon session Rajya Sabha bid farewell to its 11 members including NCUI President Dr Chandra Pal Singh Yadav whose tenure will end in November.
Yadav who had been active in his 6 years’ stint as a member raised co-op issues several times in the Upper House and also protested against the Farm Bill on his last day.
The list of retirees includes BJP leader Hardeep Singh Puri, SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav and Javed Ali Khan, among others.
Though many of them may come back and many may not, this is the time the House would like to bid farewell to all its retiring members, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said.
Insiders say that since Chandra Pal is an important leader of Samajwadi Party, chances of his come-back are quite bright. They also pointed out that his presence in the Upper House means the presence of a cooperative voice in the highest forum.
