Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana President and Lok Sabha MP Raju Shetty has alleged that the state cooperative bank in Maharashtra has indulged in serious irregularities selling cooperative sugar factories and cooperative hand-loom mills.
He charged during the Congress-NCP rule several shady deals had been closed in the cooperative sector. Shetty was speaking before the ” save cooperative sector” meet organized by Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana.
Several resolutions calling for promotion of the interests of the cooperative sector were passed in the meeting. A large number of prominent cooperators were present on the occasion.
The alleged sale of cooperative sugar and hand-loom units in Maharashtra below the prevailing market price has been controversial.
