Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank to go to polls in Nov

The Cooperative Election Authority has released the election schedule for the Board of Directors (BoD) of Gujarat’s Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank. The elections are set to be held on 11th November 2024.

In a recent order, the authority appointed the District Magistrate or Collector of Rajkot as the Returning Officer to oversee the election process.

A total of 3,37,820 regular members are eligible to vote in the upcoming election. The election process will formally commence on 18th October 2024, with the nomination open from 29th October to 2nd November 2024, coinciding with the Diwali festivities.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 4th November 2024, and candidates  can withdraw their nominations until 5th November. The final list of candidates will be published on the same day, with polling scheduled for 11th November 2024.

Vote counting will occur on 12th November 2024, with the official results declared on 15th November, following approval from the Cooperative Election Authority.

The election for office bearers, including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, will take place on 19th November 2024, with results  announced after approval from the authority.

Rajkot Nagarik Sahakari Bank, one of India’s leading urban cooperative banks, has a Board consisting of 21 directors—18 from the General category, 1 from SC/ST, and 2 from Women.
