10 year old Heer Doshi from Rajkot has bagged the Silver Award in an international painting contest organized by the globally known Japanese co-operative “IE-NO-HIKARI”. Doshi was the lone Indian winner in the World Children’ Picture Contest.
IE-NO-HIKARI (Japan) has been organizing World Children’s Picture Contest for the last 24 years and National Co-operative Union of India (NCUI) is the coordinating agency for the event in India.
About 19,587 entries from 85 countries were received for the year 2016-17, of which 1,123 entries were from India. Heer Doshi, daughter of Kalpakbhai Doshi, a chartered accountant of Rajkot has been awarded the Silver Award.
The little girl’s painting titled “THE GREAT INDIAN CARNIVAL” portrayed a scene of the most popular event of Saurashtra the Lok-mela. The 5th standard student of Saint Paul’s School, Rajkot Heera Doshi achieved this feat at age 10.
IE-NO-HIKARI organizes this world contest primarily to create amity and friendship among children all over the world and develop their personality.
