Rajkot DCCB diversifies into non-farming sector: CEO

Gujarat Rajkot District Cooperative Bank CEO V M Sakhiya gave a presentation during the two-day National Conference on ‘Best Practices in Rural Cooperative Banks’ organized by Nabard at BIRD, Lucknow.

In his presentation, he informed about the activities of the bank and apprised the participants that the bank is working in two districts of Gujarat and has a network of 199 branches.

“The bank is on the growth path. In 2018, the business mix of the bank was Rs 7509 crore whereas it doubled in the 2023 FY and stood at Rs 14,343 crore as on 31st March 2023. Besides, the Net NPA remained ‘Zero’ in the 2022-23 FY”, he added.

Sakhiya further added that we have diversified our business in the non-farming sector, in which we are providing Medium Term Loan like Housing Loan, Personal Loan, Commercial Loan, Car/Motor Bike loan and others. The bank is also doing the General Insurance business, for which we have a tie up with IFFCO-Tokio General Insurance Company, he added in his presentation.

He further said, the bank is also providing a unique locker facility 24×7 and 365 days at HO having more than 4700 different sizes of lockers.

Sakhiya said we all have to make efforts to increase the share of cooperative banks in the GDP.
