Manju Rajpal, a 2000-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, assumed the role of Principal Secretary of the Cooperation Department and Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Rajasthan, on Tuesday.
In her initial remarks, Ms. Rajpal highlighted the critical role of the Cooperative Department, emphasizing its extensive network that reaches every village and its significant impact on farmers and rural communities.
While talking to the Indian Cooperative, she said, “I have just taken over the charge and it’s too early to comment on my strategy for strengthening the roots of the cooperative movement. I need some time to respond to your queries”, she said.
Ms. Rajpal plans to work closely with department officials to ensure the effective implementation of schemes and to maximize benefits for farmers and eligible individuals.
Rajpal was a Commissioner of Jaipur Development Authority, Secretary of Rural Development Department, Member of Revenue Board Ajmer, Secretary and Commissioner of Panchayati Raj Department, and Collector in various districts.
She is expected to play a crucial role in advancing initiatives from the Union Ministry of Cooperation, with a particular focus on the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
