Jayesh Radadiya, a minister in Vijay Rupani Cabinet who doubles as the chairman of Rajkot District Cooperative Bank has announced to follow in Sanghani’s footsteps and insure about 2 lakh farmer-members of the co-op bank.
Radadiya said Rajkot District Cooperative Bank would pay the premium of two lakh people associated with the bank.
Earlier, the Board Amreli Jilla Madhyastha Sahakari Bank passed a resolution to insure 4 lakh members associated with the bank under the PM Bima Yojana.
Lauding Radadiya for his initiative, Sanghani said more and more DCCBs should take the call. “Rajkot district is much bigger than Amreli and such examples would motivate cooperators”, added Sanghani.
Interestingly, both Sanghani and Radadiya are on the board of the largest fertilizer cooperative IFFCO. While Sanghani is its Vice-President, Radadiya is a board member.
