Amul and Mother Dairy are fiercely fighting over who will claim the lion’s share of the sweet segment of the dairy market. Amul has rolled out over a dozen sweets following the outbreak of the Wuhan virus, reports Financial Express.
Sources say not only Amul and Mother Dairy but also Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation’s brand Aavin, are at work expanding their footprint in the segment.
Experts say though the sweet market remains largely unorganized there is scope for a great deal of business.
Amul reported a turnover of Rs 38,550 crore for the FY20, while Mother Dairy’s revenue stood at over Rs 10,447 crore during the period.
