Punjab to pay dues of Rs 100 crore to cane growers

Punjab Cooperative Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa says cooperative sugar mills in the state will pay Rs 100 crore to the cane growers as dues for financial years 2019-and 2020, reports HT.

The minister said the amount would be credited into the cane growers’ accounts without delay. According to the minister, the state government would take all possible steps to increase the income of cane growers.

The minister further informed that cooperative sugar mills have given lakhs of saplings of high yielding varieties of sugarcane to cane growers.
