The Punjab Government will restructure the state’s cooperative banks by introducing gold loan and insurance schemes with a view to making them able to compete with private banks, reports the daily Pioneer.
Randhawa said fresh recruitment will be carried out to deal with the staff shortage, and cooperative banks will be equipped with all the latest virtual facilities. The minister was opening the workshop on ‘Micro Finance, New Business Opportunities for Cooperative Banks’.
The workshop was organized by Punjab State Cooperative Bank in association with NABARD.
