The secretary of a co-operative society in Bhatinda, Punjab has made away with Rs 1.6 crore by faking documents, reports Tribune.
The Kotwali police have registered a case two years after the incident and booked the secretary of the co-operative society.
An investigation was carried out by the Economic Offences (EO) wing of the Bathinda police. As per the FIR, the investigation team had found close to 70 cheques with fake signatures.
A case under sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120 of the IPC has been registered at the Kotwali police station.
