Additional Chief secretary cooperation Punjab D.P. Reddy has said the Punjab Government will soon launch a ”mobile application” to facilitate the farmers’ for custom hiring of costly agricultural implements required for post harvesting and preparation of fields for sowing next crops, reports Punjab News Express.
The Additional chief secretary said this while discussing the issue of stubble burning in a meeting with officials from cooperative department and Punjab Remote Sensing Center. The official said burning of crops residue was causing environmental pollution in Punjab and the cooperation department will take initiatives in tackling this problem.
Reddy underscored the fact that the department of cooperation through ”mobile application ” could easily help farmers manage straw/stubble and sowing of crops at affordable costs through implements which otherwise are very expensive for individual farmer to buy.
