Punjab Governor critical of nepotism in co-ops

Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, lauded the efforts of Sahakar Bharati while addressing a convention organized by the organization in Amritsar. He said, “I extend my gratitude to Sahakar Bharati for giving me the opportunity to be part of this event. Across the nation, if there is one leading institution driving the cooperative movement, it is Sahakar Bharati.”

The Governor emphasized that a country’s progress is impossible without morally upright workers. He praised Sahakar Bharati’s motto, “No cooperation without values,” and acknowledged its efforts in nurturing value-driven individuals, calling it commendable.

Reflecting on India’s traditional cooperative systems, he remarked, “Our village system was inherently based on cooperation. We were accustomed to living life rooted in cooperative principles. The organization founded under the visionary leadership of Shri Laxmanrao Inamdar has grown into a mighty banyan tree today.”

He expressed concern over corruption and nepotism infiltrating the cooperative sector and said, “It is Sahakar Bharati that can revive and reform this sector during such times.” He also appreciated the organization’s past initiatives and highlighted that states embracing cooperative principles have progressed significantly.

During the event, Governor Kataria commended Sahakar Bharati for strengthening the cooperative movement and contributing to the betterment of society.
