The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has introduced a loan scheme through the State Cooperative Bank to help farmers manage crop residue and combat paddy straw burning.
The initiative aims to provide rural credit for purchasing machinery that prevents environmental pollution. Farmers can access loans through the bank’s 802 branches and avail of an easy process.
Additionally, Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies and progressive farmers are eligible for subsidies, with 80% for agricultural equipment under the Common Hiring Centre scheme and 50% for specific tools like balers and superseeders.
