PTC News reports Punjab Government has demanded Rs1000 crore from NABARD for strengthening the Cooperative institutions so as to ease the difficulties faced by farmers in the state.
Punjab Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa met NABARD Chairman Govinda Rajulu Chintala in Mumbai in this connection.
The Minister apprised the NABARD Chairman of the financial constraints faced by the Primary Agricultural Development Banks (PADBs).
The Cooperation Minister also sought loans for setting up of Cooperative Sugar Mills in Punjab.
