The apex body of Pune UCBs- Pune Urban Cooperative Bank Association donated 200 personal protective equipment (PPE) kits to Sassoon Hospital last week to help doctors fight against the Covid-19.
Sharing the information with Indian Cooperative, Pune UCBs Association Chairman Subhash Mohite said, “Due to the coronavirus, the safety of doctors is very important, for which our association has donated 200 PPE kits worth of Rs 2,40,000 to Sassoon Hospital. We have set a target to donate 1200 PPE kits to different hospitals of Pune”.
“Our association handed over the PPE Kits to Dr. Chandanwala Dean of Hospital and others last week. There are 52 UCBs in Pune and several UCBs of Pune have jointly donated funds to the association”, he added.
He further said, “Besides, the association is also planning to donate 50 thermal scanners to the doctors in Pune. The association is working hard to help the needy in all possible ways”, he underlined.
Earlier on the appeal of Cooperative Commissioner in Pune, Association has donated 460 pairs of safety goggles to medical teams through district medical officers.
Pune is the second hotspot in Maharashtra after Mumbai.
