Mooting the idea of PCPP Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the registration of the PACS, which opt for non-banking businesses, will be carried out on a Public Cooperative Private Partnership (PCPP) basis under the Atal Mahaaphan Vikas Abhiyan.
The new scheme named as “Atal Mahaaphan Vikas Abhiyan” was launched to fund 5,000 such cooperatives in the state, reports Asian Age.
The scheme is expected to boost non-banking businesses across the state. The government would help the crisis-ridden cooperative sector not only survive but also grow,” official sources say.
Women self-help groups and farmers are likely to be involved in the initiative that will help them in creating jobs and income in rural areas.
Official sources say the scheme is a part of the Union Finance Ministry’s goal of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022.
